A possible DAO for 3DVR
Help build 3DVR.
Help decide what it becomes.
3DVR is open source. As more people help build it, we want more people to share responsibility for where it goes next.
What is a DAO?
DAO means Decentralized Autonomous Organization. In simple terms, it is a group that uses shared rules and collective decision-making instead of putting everything in one person's hands.
DAOs are often built on blockchains, and many use coins or tokens for voting, funding, ownership, or rewards. Those can be useful tools, while other decentralized systems can also play a role.
How could a DAO work with GUN, SEA, and AXE? →
“Autonomous” does not mean AI runs the organization. It means software can help carry out rules the group already agreed on.
What would that mean for 3DVR?
Start with contribution records, earned trust, proposals, and voting. People who actually help 3DVR could earn more responsibility and a stronger voice over time. A 3DVR coin or token could grow alongside that system for rewards, funding, ownership, or other uses the community chooses.
Quick next experiment
Start small with 3DVR Credits: record one useful contribution in GUN, sign the receipt with SEA, verify who approved it, then issue a test credit that keeps a link back to the work that earned it.
GUN and cryptographic signatures can reduce how much we need to trust one server or administrator, but they do not automatically make every value immutable or solve financial double-spending. If the experiment eventually manages real pooled money, a smart-contract or multisig treasury could provide stronger financial guarantees.
Where could a coin fit?
A 3DVR coin could become an important part of the ecosystem. We do not need to decide its exact role yet; credits give us a simple place to experiment while we learn what a coin would be most useful for.
- Rewarding contributors and useful network activity
- Transferable value between people inside and outside 3DVR
- Community fundraising or shared ownership
- On-chain voting, incentives, or treasury participation
What could the community decide?
- Which 3DVR projects should be priorities
- Which contributors should receive grants or rewards
- What servers, hardware, and research should be funded
- Who should take responsibility for important parts of the project
- How a future community fund should be used
Could 3DVR invest money too?
Possibly, but it should start as a separate experiment rather than pretending to represent all of 3DVR. One portal app could test an AI-assisted community fund with clearly defined membership, proposals, voting, and treasury rules.
AI could help research ideas and explain risks, but people would set the rules and approve important decisions. A real investment fund would need the right legal and financial structure before handling pooled money.
Where did the idea come from?
Older GUN and AXE research explored a related idea: reward useful work on a network and keep a clear history of where that value came from. We are borrowing the spirit of that idea while leaving room for credits, a future 3DVR coin, blockchain tools, or a combination of them.
